GREEN, GREEN, GREEN, GO, GO, GO!!!!

Lap 17- DW comes in VERY early for a pit, car was ALL over the place, added wedge (tighten)
Steve Park is reporting in that he is VERY Loose.

CAUTION #1 Lap #29 DE Jr. lost his brakes (hole in brake line, brake fluid on tire) he tagged the wall in turn 2. Due to the loss of brakes, missed his spot in the pit, had to go all the way around again and come in .... Lotta work to be done to Jr.'s car. (15 laps down)

Dale Jarrett was leaving his pit box and Stacy Compton was coming in, they got together and Compton was spun into his pit THANK GOD The pit guys are okay!!!!! (PHEW!) No one was hit.... Both cars had to re-pit......

RESTART Lap # 34
9 lead changes in the 1st 42 laps, Go Jerry! (sorry, but I hope to scream that throughout the day!)

CAUTION #2 Lap #53 Wally Dallenbach, Dave Blaney JUST missed him and skimmed the wall, Dallenbach spun into the wet grass and got stuck.
Kenny Wallace stopped on pit road to let Bobby Labonte and others out,,,very tight in the pits.
Bill Elliott and Scott Pruett had contact on pit road. Elliott had to re-pit twice 
DW and Jeremy Mayfield went into the garage. Mayfield lost 4th gear. Team worked on trany and will get him back out.

RESTART Lap # 58

CAUTION #3 Lap #69 Jeff Burton, current leader, spun (right rear cut-debris?) and hit the wall hard, with the tail en of his car, Jeff got out of the car okay, he reports he is "Just a little sore".
Tony Stewart has been having problems ... replaced carb, air cleaner and other things .. not getting the horse power he needs.

RESTART Lap # 77

Lap 99 - Stacy Compton comes in for an unscheduled pit....
Lap 102 - Mark Martin got side ways after contact with John Andretti, Martin did a GREAT job holding the car ,,, 
** Kenny Schrader's Pit crew member, Michael Cooper, jack man for The M&M's team, had his right foot run over (not sure by who) and is being transported to a local hospital. His foot has a bad sprain.

Lap 130 - A gas catchcan fell off of Ward Burtons car in his pit... this begins GREEN FLAG PITS ... Smoke from Nadeaus car??? IT Hole in the oil pan BIG SIGH :(((

GREEN FLAG PITS finish around lap 143 with Mike Skinner reclaiming the lead.
Lap 161 - Ward Burton is in for an unscheduled pit, having a problem getting fuel in the car.
Lap 172 - Tony Stewart, currently a lap down, comes in with a right front tire going down.

CAUTION #4 Lap #183 Scott Pruett into the wall and spins to bring out this caution.
Matt Kenseth was over heating and pitted early, couple laps down.

RESTART Lap # 188

Lap 189 - Mike Skinner passed Bobby Labonte for the lead but is reporting a light flashing on his dash ... possible alternator/battery problems?

CAUTION #5 Lap # 201 Matt Kenseth's motor blew up.....
Skinner had a 15.2 pit stop! Mike Thanked and told the team they were "AWSOME" As he left the pits..

RESTART Lap # 204
Skinner and DE Senior RACE hard for the lead Skinner pulls it off, but not without DE going way off pace due to damaged right front fender from contact with Skinner.

CAUTION #6 Lap #208 Wally Dallenbach Spins into the wall, he walked away.....
DE Senior pulled up to his teammate Mike Skinner, seemed to have a few "handy" words for Skinner?? 
DW's Tire carries was clipped by DE Senior coming into the pit....
DJ pitted twice during this caution,,,as did Mark Martin.....

RESTART Lap # 214
Lap 250 Jeff Gordon, currently 9th, Comes in early due to being loose and has a right rear vibration ... Rusty Wallace, currently 6th, comes in with a possible tire going down....can they make it on gas? Will they be forced to pit again?
Dale Jarrett, the defending champion, 2 laps down falls WAY off the pace and on lap 259 he loses the motor...?

CAUTION #7 Lap #263 Todd Bodine, was in 8th, hits the wall in turn four and goes down right down pit road.
Fire in the pits of the Kodak pit spot...Bobby Hamilton drove off with the catch can still in flames in the car....he lapped around and came in to be extinguished

RESTART Lap # 272 Bobby Labonte starts off in the lead but Earnhardt takes him fast, then Skinner comes up to second....

CAUTION #8 Lap #275 Tony Stewart got lose, hit the wall came down onto the track and Robert Pressley, Rusty Wallace and Stacy Compton were also caught up in this. Tony Stewart was "assisted" to the ambulance but looked to be OK.

RESTART Lap # 284
DE Senior came out in the lead but Skinner soon passed him....
Rusty, and Tony (with a BAD Headache and mild concussion) are OK, The Gas man from the #60 Powerteam was treated for possible fume inhalation. 

CAUTION #9 Lap #275 Michael Waltrip is smokin' ... (was during a commercial)
The leaders all came in for 4 tires....no gas

RESTART Lap # 304
Skinner falls off the pace and down to the apron,,, "POW" he lost the engine with ONLY 20 laps to go HE DOMINATED This race, what a shame.......... well said "The agony of defeat" So sad.

CAUTION #10 Lap # Kenny Irwin (possibly caught up in oil?) spun

Earnhardt wins a thriller in Atlanta
Dale Earnhardt has put the #3 Goodwrench Chevy in Victory Lane for the first time in 2000 by beating Bobby Labonte to the finish line by only 9 one thousandths of a second.  Mike Skinner, who dominated for the first 305 laps, blew his engine with only 20 laps remaining while leading the field.
