RACIN'
IS A GIRLS BEST FRIEND
She gave up a new sofa, for seasons tickets at the track,
Keeps all her racing magazines and pictures in a nice
neat stack
Her momma thinks she's crazy, her husband understands,
Her boss knows not to complain
If she ain't at work on Monday you can bet it's due to Sunday's
rain.
Racin' is a girl's best friend
She don't want diamonds, she wants MRN
She'd sleep in a VW bus if she had to
Just to stay the whole weekend
She's got the fever, cant wait to do it all again
Just ask her and she'd tell you, racing is a girls best friend.
When the pace car drops off the track, her heart flies
Thrilled to smell the heat and feel the power from the engines
as they go by
She holds her breath when those day glo colors
Become a tangled mess of smoke and metal
Just stand beside her at the track, ain't no question how the
lady feels!
Racin' is a girl's best friend
She don't want diamonds, she wants MRN
She'd sleep in a VW bus if she had to
Just to stay the whole weekend
She's got the fever, cant wait to do it all again
Just ask her and she'd tell you, racing is a girls best friend.
Racin' is a girl's best friend
She don't want diamonds, she wants MRN
She'd sleep in a VW bus if she had to
Just to stay the whole weekend
She's got the fever, cant wait to do it all again
Just ask her and she'd tell you, racing is a girls best friend.
Last Sunday I went down to Talladega
Looking forward to a day at the track
I though I was lookin' pretty suave and debonair
All dressed up in my best racin' black
I saw a girl wearing real tight cut off denim
She was alone and looked like she might need
a date
I gave her my best body language with my favorite
pick up line
She shook her had, then said, "let's get something
straight"
Girls like fast cars, too, excuse me, if we obstruct
your view
We don't need to be accompanied, to enjoy this
place
Believe me when I tell you that we come here
for the race
We LOVE Speed, we Love Power, and there's more
than just a few...
Girl's like fast cars, too
With my ego bruised, I told her, hey it's no big
deal
I'm cool, let the show begin
Forty-three laps later, I was so into the race
I almost didn't see her look at me and grin
She said it's obvious, we've got a lot in common
Your driver isn't mine, but that's OK
Now she's my girl, we share the world of racing,
we're in love
And I thanks my lucky starts every day...that
Girls like fast cars, too, excuse them, if they
obstruct your view
We don't need to be accompanied, to enjoy this
place
Believe me when I tell you that we come here
for the race
We LOVE Speed, we Love Power, and there's more
than just a few...
Girl's like fast cars, too
I gotta tell you Girls like fast cars, too, excuse
them,
if they obstruct your
view
We don't need to be accompanied, to enjoy this
place
Believe me when I tell you that we come here
for the race
We LOVE Speed, we Love Power, and there's more
than just a few...
Girl's like fast cars, too
BELIEVE ME-Girl's-like-fast-cars-too
At 200 hundred miles an hour
The last thing they want to do is stop
But if there tires are tired
And the tank needs toppin' off
That's when they thank their lucky stars.
For these fast guys slippin' under there cars
A few good men
Get 'em back on the track
They fix there brakes
And fix there flats
The difference between
The wall and the win
Is a few good men
It's oily and it's dirty
Yea you could say it's the pits
But in the heat of just one moment
There ain't nothin' that they can't fix
Though he gets the glory and the victory lap
A real team driver knows where the credit's at
So I want to take this time
To say thanks to you guys
'Cuz we all know behind EVERY win
Is a few good men
So here's to them
FROM ALL US FANS
TO A FEW GOOD MEN
Me and Dad were Talkin' on our way to the track
I said betcha never seen Jeff Gordon,
Dale Earnhardt or guys like that
There's faster cars, bigger stars, girls and
high bank curves
He just smiled at me and never said a word
I told him 'bout their nerves of steel, and cars
that almost fly
You won't believe the skill in the way these
guys drive
I said there are more fans in the stands than
I realized,
He sat there listing, with a twinkle in his eyes
I said these are the days when they race for there
pride
Swapping paint in the turns and coming out three
wide
Racing for the win, and never looking back,
These are the days at the track
That's when my Dad said to me, hold on one minute
son
Let me tell you how it was, back when i was young
There was Ned Jarrett, Buddy Backer, and the
Alabama Gang
I just sat and listened, as he rattled off those
names
he told me how the drivers worked on there own
cars
They had pit crews of friends and family,
but they worked just as hard
No walls to hit, just men of grit, no sponsors,
but alot of heart
I remember how it was, when racing got its start
He said these are the days when they race for
there pride
Swapping paint in the turns and coming out three
wide
Racing for the win, and never looking back,
Those are the days at the track
These are the days when they race for there pride
Swapping paint in the turns and coming out three
wide
Racing for the win, and never looking back,
These are the days at the track
Those were the days
Now me and Dad spend our days at the track
Another weekend coming, qualifying for the pole
Sterling, Bill and Jeff are runnin,
we're all gearing up for the show
Right now my boss is screamin',
"hey some people work around here, man"
Once again he caught me dreamin',
but he don't understand who I am
Oh no, I'm gonna make it to Atlanta
To the Promised Land and the WINSTON Cup
One day I'll make it to Atlanta
If I don't give up, and I WON'T give up, no,
no,
There goes another Sunday night,
Bristol in my rearview mirror
Chasing Kyle and Dale and Rusty,
they sure are hard to catch from here
Back to the grind again on Monday,
gotta be at work by nine
It's just my job right now, but someday,
I'm gonna live this dream of mine
At least one time
I'm gonna make it to Atlanta
To the Promised Land and the WINSTON Cup
One day I'll make it to Atlanta
If I don't give up, and I WON'T give up
Oh I swear I'm gonna make it to Atlanta
To the Promised Land and the WINSTON Cup
One day I'll make it to Atlanta
If I don't give up, and I WON'T give up
I can't give up, never gonna give up,
That's a promise, man
Yeah I wanna make to Atlanta
Even if its in the stands
I'm gonna hold that WINSTON Cup in my mind
If not in my hand
One day I'll make it to Atlanta
'Cuz that's the promised Land
And I WON'T give up
I can't give up, never gonna give up,
That's a promise, man
Ooh Hot 'lanta
Gonna hold that WINSTON Cup
Oh Lord, gonna make it to Atlanta
